SAHELI was conceived in June 2020 during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic. The year 2020 was brutal time for all of us, but especially for women who were trapped in homes with unloving spouses, parents or relatives who were sexually abusing them for days on end. It was also a time of great revelation when spiritual & sexual abuse in church settings was exposed and uncovered by media and ministry networks worldwide. Several in such dire situations attended the first sexual abuse help session in April 2020, desperate for help and hope. After two years of working, thinking, building and praying through this, I began to meet the needs of such women in more up-close manner as a certified Biblical Counselor and Trauma-care trained Caregiver.
SAHELI (short for Sexual & Spiritual Abuse Help, Encouragement and Learning Initiative) is a survivors forum to help victims of abuse process their traumatic past, find hope from Christ and help from Scriptures, talk with like-minded friends, survivors, sisters and expert counselors and become healed servants of Christ, ready to become water-carriers for those like themselves. Sign up for this forum if you are someone seeking immediate help.*
*Right to entry is restricted to victims and survivors only, exceptions being certified Biblical counselors who will be there to facilitate support groups.
